A BATHING APE® x Case Study Shop: BAPE® STUDY EXHIBITION

Opened on the third floor of Bapexclusive Kyoto, A BATHING APE® and Case Study Shop are currently presenting the “BAPE® STUDY EXHIBITION”. On show and on sale are the multi-color camo chairs, t-shirts inspired by them and a Bape head wall clock. Alongside the aforementioned items sits the now famous Bape wooden table, which is obviously not for sale. The exhibition shall run until March 28, and has no admission fee.

Hand Candle Atelier WM!!!!

I guess Pharrel just got Down ,cause the French clothing store, colette just added a new product to their design section. The Atelier WM wax candles are shaped in the realistic form of a hand which is then twisted and bent into recognizable hand signs. The universal sign celebrating heavy metal rock with the pinky and index pointing up mimicking devils horns comes in black and red. These candles will make a great conversation piece in anyone’s home.

Starck is not the first and will not be the last, to express himself through strong controversial symbols. Weapons are a recurring icon and are used to see how far the boundaries of design can be pushed, in pursuit of a healthy disgust.

Smile and bear in mind that neither self-made toy weapons nor table lamps are the cause of wars. Think about the pure gold plating on these fake weapons perhaps, which is just as powerful a symbol of the greed and instinct, not love, that appear to drive life, with ever more devastating effects.

The Tank Chair & Perspective Chairs at Gallerie Emmanuel Perrotin by Pharrell Williams

Pharrell Williams brings forth the latest installment of his Perspective series in the shape of The Tank Chair. Slated for a world premiere at the Emmanual Perriton Gallery during Art Basel Miami Skateboard P’s latest venture in contemporary furniture comes along in four colorways and is made of plexiglas and full grain colt leather. After taking inspiration from the love between a man and a woman for the First Perpactive chair one can only assume the influence behind this creative piece.

Multi-faceted musician/entrepreneur Pharrell williams teamed up with furniture designer Domeau & Peres earlier in the year to create the critically acclaimed “Perspective” chairs. They are now on display at the Gallerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris. The contemporary furniture pieces are featured in four colorways with leather, luxurious velour and veal skin wrapped seats. Taking inspiration from the love between a man and woman, this is certainly another project adding to the already impressive resume of Mr. Williams.
