HeaLth Care Reform Passed
- Consumer protections that will restrict how much of your premium dollars insurance companies can spend on marketing, profits, and salaries
- Creation of a health exchange to increase consumer choice and guarantee coverage
- Affordable health options, with subsidies for working families and a hardship waiver
- Tax credits to help small businesses afford coverage
- Making preventive care completely free – with no co-payments or deductibles
- Lowering the cost of health care for our seniors
- Improving the quality and extending the life of Medicare
- Ensuring that reform is not only fully paid for, but actually significantly reduces the federal deficit
protester disagreed and yelled back, "You're doing this to the American people!" Others chanted Pelosi's name and shouted, "Kill the bill! Kill the bill!" Supporters cheered the speaker and other Democrats as they entered the Capitol.
Inside the House chamber, negotiations continued on the floor while overhead in the visitors gallery, a protester hollered, "The people don't want this!" As ushers tried to escort him out, several Republicans stood up on the House floor and cheered.
A few hundred protesters carrying signs opposing the health care overhaul crowded a grassy area near the House side of the Capitol. One sign read, "This bill is anti-American, vote the bums out" while another stated, "Obamacare (equals) death warrant for grandma." Appearing to outnumber Americans flags were banners with the colonial-era slogan "Don't tread on me."
The legislation, affecting virtually every American and more than a year in the making, would extend coverage to an estimated 32 million uninsured, bar insurers from denying coverage on the basis of existing medical conditions, and cut federal deficits by an estimated $138 billion over a decade.
Congressional analysts estimate the cost of the two bills combined would be $940 billion over a decade

MICHAEL JACKSON ESTATE SIGNS BIGGEST RECORD DEAL EVER
Even after his death, Michael Jackson continues to set records. Despite declining album sales in the music industry, the King of Pop has landed the largest recording deal in history.
Sony Music Entertainment will pay the Jackson estate as much as $250 million for the right to release 10 projects over the next seven years, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Future offerings may include a mix of previously unreleased songs, new packages of familiar hits, and a DVD compilation of music videos. One of the albums containing never-before-released Jackson recordings is expected in November. The soundtrack to last fall’s concert documentary This Is It will count toward the 10-album obligation.
“We’re dedicated to protecting this icon’s legacy and we’re thrilled that we can continue to bring his music to the world for the foreseeable future,” said Sony Music Chairman Rob Stringer.
The record-breaking contract eclipses previous deals by Mariah Carey ($100 million), Bruce Springsteen ($100 million), Madonna ($120 million), and Jay-Z ($150 million).

Lil Wayne Ate Meatloaf With Mashed Potatoes Today.
Vibe Magazine got some exclusive details of what Lil’ Wayne’s life will be like while serving his jail time on New York’s Rikers Island, they even found out he had meatloaf this afternoon with mashed potatoes. Here’s the intel:
Sources tell VIBE that contrary to some reports, Lil Wayne’s attorney requested protective custody for the rapper. However, there is technically no such thing at Rikers. In order to accommodate Weezy, he will be housed in general population at the Eric M. Taylor Center alongside inmates with similar safety risks. He’ll be shadowed with an escort wherever he goes.
“If he leaves for a haircut, the law library or play in the yard he will be escorted by a captain with a panic button on his belt to call for back up if Wayne gets attacked,” says a Rikers Island insider.
Every hour, Wayne will have the option to roam the quarters with his escort in tow, or be securely locked in his cell. The corridor where he is housed is currently holding 18 other inmates with a day room with a TV on one end.
His cell is 10×6 and like all sentenced inmates he is required to wear a dark green work shirt, pants and slip on sneakers. All contact with the outside is limited to two phone calls a week, which will be recorded, and two visits with up to three people at a time.
You know how he works, he has to stay busy!! By the time he gets out of jail we figure he’ll join some new movement, be the size of Nelly, have at least 500 new songs and will have managed to get some new tattoos.

Remembering Biggie.
Thirteen years ago hip-hop lost one of its greatest talents. On the anniversary of his death, we remember the legendary Notorious B.I.G. Check out some vintage footage of a 17-year-old Biggie during his early days rapping in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, to one of his now classic videos for “Hypnotize.”
We’ll always love Big Poppa.
